Happiness — Oriental Lucy on CD
Posted by: mark ˑ April 22, 2008 – 12:04 amIt is not secret I am a big fan of ORIENTAL LUCY. So it is with a happy heart that I can report that the band is having a release party for its first mini-CD on Saturday. There will be a showcase and a couple of bands playing.
The fun begins at 5pm 7pm (OL’s latest email now says 7 o’clock) at the Hongdae club 500 (which is apparently close to the AA Design Academy, if you know where that is). Not sure how late the festivities will run, but as you can see in the concert calendar, Saturday (indeed, all weekend) is chock full of concerts. Come for ORIENTAL LUCY, and stay for the whole evening.
In case you cannot find 500, I dug up this poor map in the outer reaches of the World Wide Web… hope it helps.

Just thought id give a little love and kudos. What an opportune site! This is exactly what the indie/live expat Korean community needed and I can’t help but think what a joy it would have been to have this site about when i still resided in the seething metropolisis. It was always hard to find information and then to even discern if it was relevant was particularly a gamble.
Nice to see a blog with some incisiveness that is propograting the great sounds Korea has to offer

Hi Alexander – Thanks for the kind works. I hope I can do something people find somewhat useful. And it is not just me — I am deeply grateful for the concert announcements people email my way.
Actually, I would love to make this Korea-wide at some point, if I could get people in Busan, Daejeon, Gwangju, etc. to participate. But one step at a time, I guess.
